About Us
Denise is the Principal Psychologist with the service and is a highly skilled clinician with over 20 years experience on the Sunshine Coast providing therapy and assessment services to children, teens, and their parents, carers and families. She has expertise in providing a range of therapeutic approaches and assessments. The focus of all services is to provide evidence based and person centred support in partnership with children, families and agencies to find solutions and to improve quality of life.
Denise has experience in the provision of behaviour support, cognitive and learning assessments, and other assessment of neurodiversity including ASD and ADHD. She is trained in a range of evidence based therapeutic programs including Circle of Security parenting, Bringing up Great Kids, trauma informed therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy including Cool Kids Anxiety interventions, IABA, and other therapy programs including Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP).
Appointments, Fees & Rebates
We offer both morning and afternoon appointments.

Medicare
Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)
The full cost of a 50 minute Psychology session is $185.
If referred under a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) by your GP, the following rebates are available for sessions:
50 minutes $93.35 rebate
50 minutes outside of consulting rooms**$117.25 rebate
Telehealth 50 minutes $93.35 rebate
Kindergarten, school and agency visits can be conducted if required. Visits outside of the consulting room cost $200 an hour.
Medicare
Parent or Carer Session
The first session for all children referred under a MHCP will be conducted with a parent, carer or family member who is the primary carer of the child (child not present for initial appointment).
Family and carer sessions (up to 2 per calendar year within plan) 50 minute session $185 with $93.35 rebate in clinic or by Telehealth.
Assessment
Cognitive and other assessments including assessment of learning have a minimum cost of *$1350 which includes information gathering and interview, administration of direct assessment and the completion of a Psychology Assessment report. Payment of GST is required for provision of the assessment report.
Feedback with parents and carers is also provided following completion of the assessment to discuss results of the assessment.
Further appointments or school visits requested following the completion of assessment are charged at the hourly rate outlined for Psychology sessions (and can be discussed at the feedback session).
NDIS
National Disability Insurance Scheme
Please contact the service if you require Psychology services if your child has been approved and is in receipt of NDIS funding to discuss supports available.
The cost per 60 minute session for NDIS early childhood and therapy supports is $214.41.

Limited MBS items may be available to those eligible under an existing neurodevelopmental disorder/ disability if referred by a GP or specialist. Session 50+minutes rebate $93.35
Insurance
Private Health Insurance
A partial rebate may be available through private health insurance if you are not accessing sessions via a MHCP. If you are considering this as an option, please contact your private insurance provider to discuss whether your policy has psychological counselling extras and advise the clinician at intake if a rebate is available.
Other
Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA)
Please advise when you contact us if you, your child or other family members are eligible for support for counselling.
